Drag Me To Hell - Movie Review

Drag Me To Hell is a 2009 movie about Christine Brown portrayed by Alison Lohman. She has a good job, and a great boyfriend and a bright future not until a curse was put on her. It was directed by Sam Raimi who also created the movies such as The Ring and Spider Man series.

Christine Brown's only aspiration is to be the Assistant Manager in the bank where she work a loan officer. One day, an old lady named Sylvia Ganush played by Lorna Raver came to her asking her to give her another extension for her house. She consulted her boss however, the task of deciding was left to Brown. Because of the position she is aiming for, she decided not to give an extension. Mrs. Ganush got angry and put a curse through a button that belongs to Brown.

She went to a fortune teller and she was advsd that a lamia was put to her and for three days it will haunt her until she gets her soul. She tried to seek forgiveness from Mrs. Ganush however, the old lady already died. She was also advsd by the fortune teller to have an offering but it didn't work. Until she had known that the only way to stop the curse is to give the cursed item to someone else as a gift, thereby cursing him or her. She tried it however, she can't do it. So what she did was she went to the graveyard where Mrs. Ganush is buried. She put the envelope into the mouth of the old lady and she believed that she already beaten the curse.

After the incident, she met Clay Dalton played by Jason Long in the train station. Clay was about to proposed to her. It just so happen that when Clay got the envelope from his coat, it has the button on it. Brown became terrified of what she saw and fell to the stone track and before the train came, she was drag by horrible hands to hell. Clay just stared and froze at what he saw.

The title is not that inviting if you hear it. At first, I have no intention of watching it however, I gained interest when I saw the making of this movie in Studio 23 in Reel Deal. The scenes shown in the making are quite interesting. So I watched it just today and I was amazed with its plot. The effects are great which made me scream a bit. The twist of the ending also is great. I didn't imagine that the lead character would still die. I really like these kind of movies!
